Liberian Women's Sewing Project

Made In: Liberia is a non-profit organization committed to the empowerment of Liberian women by providing them with vocational/technical skills and training in order to equitably compete in the productive and formal sectors of the global economy.

To do so, we have designed a comprehensive workforce development curriculum The Right-to-Work-program to give women an opportunity to acquire marketable and competitive skills in the commercial garment manufacturing industry. MIL is in partnership with Liberty & Justice, Africa’s first Fair Trade Certified garment factory, to successfully place all of MIL program graduates in full time jobs as sewing machine operators.
